I do have an option for you but there are no confirmed trailer wiring harnesses for a 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV. That said, I spoke to Curt and they said the best option is the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C59236 which is their universal harness used on most vehicles without plug and play systems available. view full answer...
The wiring harnesses are basically the similar harness from different manufacturers. I personally recommend the 4 Pole Trailer Connector (Includes Install Kit) # C59496 because it comes with the circuit tester to help you find the wire functions prior to your trunk lid. Use the circuit tester to determine functions before using the quick splice connectors on the wires. view full answer...
The 17' x 46" Curt Cargo Carrier # C18145 you purchased will fit the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24956 you are having installed on your 2022 Chevy Bolt EV perfectly.
This carrier includes the anti-rattle hitch bolt, so there is nothing else you need to purchase, and there is not a better cargo carrier for a class I hitch.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at. view full answer...
The wiring I recommend adding to the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7359 for your 2020 Chevy Bolt EV is either the standard Kit # C59496 or the ZCI Kit # 119250KIT. The standard kit uses quick splices to connect to the wiring on your vehicle while the ZCI kit uses a clamping system that senses when the different light functions are used on your Bolt EV so you won't be cutting the factory wiring on your vehicle.
If the end goal is towing a small trailer then I also recommend... view full answer...
The overall weight of the EcoHitch part # 306-X7359 that you referenced is 43 lbs. Since the hitch fits right up to the bottom of the bumper of the vehicle it's installed on the vehicle will basically lose 2 inches of ground clearance with the hitch installed. view full answer...
The Curt hitch for your 2017 Chevy Volt EV is the # C11457. The # C11378 is for a Nissan Versa and is why the instructions you have are for that vehicle. There would be no way to install that hitch on your vehicle. view full answer...
The hitch I recommend for your 2018 Chevy Bolt EV for carrying a bike rack is the Draw Tite # 24956 because it has the highest capacities, has a concealed crosstube, and unlike the Curt hitch for your vehicle it does not require the use of a stabilizer strap when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack. I attached a picture of this hitch installed on a Bolt EV just like yours carrying a Kuat NV # NV12G which is a fantastic bike rack we also recommend highly. This rack only touches... view full answer...
For your 2017 Chevy Bolt EV there are only Class I 1-1/4 inch hitches available like the Draw Tite part # 24956 which will limit your choices but there are still great options for your vehicle.
The Saris Freedom part # SA4025F is the best ightweight option. It's easy to remove and only weighs 35 lbs which is very light for a platform bike rack. This rack also only touches the tires of the bikes when loaded so it won't damage or scratch any paint finishes. view full answer...
The Curt hitch part # C11457 is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Chevy Bolt EV. I attached a picture of it as well as a link to the install instructions for you to check out too. view full answer...
EcoHitch has a hitch that fits your 2023 Chevy Bolt EV with the part # 306-X7359 but the # TL84CR actually fits the EUV models instead. view full answer...
The best option we can offer to help you reuse an old Karrite Voyager Cargo Box would be a new set of u-bolts which would require drilling a few holes, the Replacement Mounting Hardware for Roof Cargo Box part # CTC-18PARTS is what most people use.
Unfortunately, most cargo boxes don't mount using t-bolts so I do not recommend this. view full answer...
The hitch you mentioned # 24956 is a Class I hitch which means it has a very low weight capacity. That means it can only carry up to two bikes at a time due to the increased weight and leverage of bikes beyond the 2 bike portion of the rack. Also, Yakima does not have any bike racks compatible with Class I hitches.
The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Thule Camber 2 part # TH9058. We asked our demo and install guys to name their favorite,... view full answer...
I recommend using the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7359 for your 2023 Chevy Bolt EV because it's the only option that has both a hidden crosstube and a 2" receiver so you gain access to a wider variety of bike racks you can use.
If you don't already have a bike rack I highly recommend the Kuat Beta Bike Rack # B202-2 because it can handle up to 80 lbs worth of bikes (40 lbs per bike) but the rack itself only weighs in at 12.6 lbs so it's extremely light while exceeding... view full answer...
For your 2019 Chevy Bolt EV that has a totally naked roof we have the Yakima JetStream roof rack part numbers # Y00425, # Y28TR, # Y06123, and # Y06181 as a confirmed fit. This is a very aerodynamic roof rack that is easy to install and very high quality. Due to the aero shape of the bars it gives you minimal wind noise as well as affects your fuel mileage less than other bar shapes. view full answer...
I have an option for you, but there is not a custom fit trailer wiring harness for your 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV at this time.
With that said that does not mean you cannot install one.
I recommend using the 4-Pole Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # C59496 as it comes with a circuit tester to find the correct wires on your factory harness to connect to, and since it draws power directly from the battery of your Bolt EV to protect the factory wiring from damage. view full answer...
If you are looking for the quietest roof rack system for your 2022 Chevy Bolt EV, you will want to go with the Yakima JetStream Crossbars # Y00425. The asymmetrical JetFlow shape and built-in WindRidge helps to control air flow over and under these bars which dramatically reduces wind noise and vibration, even at highway speeds. So if you are looking for a good rack that wont be too loud, this is definitely the way to go. You can still use something like the Yakima WindShield Fairing #... view full answer...
We do have hitches for your 2022 Chevy Bolt EV like with the 2 inch hitch with the EcoHitch part # 306-X7359 or with the 1-1/4 inch hitch # 24956. Both of these hitches are mostly hidden since only the hitch opening hangs below the rear bumper. Typically the 2 inch hitch size is more popular since more accessories are made for it and has higher weight capacities. I'd go with the 2 inch size if possible as you'll have more accessories made for it. view full answer...
You'll have to source the running light circuit wherever it happens to be. If you can find the wire color by looking at the back of the socket on the hatch you might have luck using the color to find it in a more accessible location. view full answer...
I have a couple of possible solutions for your 2018 Chevrolet Bolt EV.
First, though, the Draw-Tite Sports Frame, part # 24956, is a Class I hitch. It is not possible to carry more than 2 bikes on a rack for Class I hitches.
The first solution involves utilizing that 2-bike feature and carrying the other 2 in some other way. For the 2-bike rack, I recommend the Swagman Chinook, part # S64683. It can handle 2 bikes at 45 pounds each and fits into 1-1/4" hitches like yours. I've linked... view full answer...
To load the inside bike on the Saris SuperClamp EX # SA4025F you would not necessarily need to lift the bike vertically over the tilted arms. What you can do is lift the bike up high enough to get on the wheel cradles but instead angle the bike in and push it to the side far enough that the back tire clears the other arm of the rack. Then you can bring it back to the other side and center it on the rack and fit the cradles.
On the other hand the Kuat Sherpa # SH12G might be a slightly... view full answer...
